What is daily life in a refugee camp while waiting for an opportunity for freedom in a new country? The World on Stage Productions, Delvyn C. Case, Jr., Playwright and Director, and David Cousins, Producer, presents a podcast in our series Real Struggles of Real People. The play, A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...AHMED stars Charlie Cole, Dick Sewall, and Randy Hunt. Set on a dock on the island of Samos, Greece, the play opens with AHMED fishing early one morning. Approaching AHMED is MARA, a newly-arrived refugee from Syria, whose boat has capsized approaching shore, casting MARA’s brother and his niece into the sea. MARA is greatly distressed not knowing their fate. Joining the two on the dock is MAHID, AHMED’S cousin, who has seen MARA’S family when he was down on the beach.
